Cherokee County Historical Museum

Located downtown in the old Carnegie Library building, the museum holds an extensive collection of prehistoric and historic artifacts. The displays include a model of Fort Butler and the account ledger from A.R.S. Hunter's Store. Future plans call for an exhibit on the Trail of Tears in North Carolina. Museum staff can direct you to the historic site of Fort Butler and other nearby points of interest.
