Flowerbed Maintenance 3-3

Flowerbed Maintenance – Thursday, March 3 at Fort Loudoun (10am to 1pm).

The park’s native flower beds and English garden are looking great!  To stay looking good, we need your help.  We are looking for volunteers to help maintain our beautiful gardens.  Work will include cutting back last year’s growth, trimming plants, blowing fall leaves out, pulling the ever present dreaded weeds and general TLC.

If you have knowledge in native plants we could use your help in making plant identification placards to place next to the plants.  If you have available an electronic device, such as a laptop, tablet, or smart phone, please bring it to look up information.

This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours for scholarships, school, or scouting badges!  Please wear appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes; if you have work gloves and hand pruners feel free to bring them, all other tools will be provided.

If you’re interested in helping, please register online or contact Ranger Savannah at savannah.couser@tn.gov   423-420-2331

The event is finished.
