National Trails Day Hike Along the Hiwassee River

National Trails Day Hike Along the Hiwassee River – Saturday, June 3 at Hiwassee/Ocoee State Park (10:30am to 2:00pm).

We are excited to partner with the American Hiking Society (AHS) to celebrate National Trails Day® on June 3rd, 2023! Millions of people have found physical, mental, and emotional restoration on our trails throughout Tennessee.

This year we are sending out our best to guide you along Tennessee’s first scenic river. This fun and moderate and muddy hike will be guided by no other than Park Manager/Ranger Angelo Giansante! On this hike, we will enjoy learning all about the area and even have time to have a swim break/picnic.

The hiking party will first meet at 10:30am at the Gee Creek Visitor Center (404 Spring Creek Rd. Delano, TN 37325). From there the party will convoy and carpool to the Big Creek Parking Lot at Reliance.

All will need to bring appropriate hiking footwear, water and food if you desire to eat with us for lunch.
