Park Paddle Tour 7-15

Park Paddle Tour – Saturday, July 15 at Fort Loudoun (8:30am to 11:00pm).

Before Tellico Lake there was the Little Tennessee River, and before boats cruised its shores canoes slipped up and downstream filled with people and goods.  Join Ranger Gamble for a guided paddle tour of the three parts of Fort Loudoun State Park and hear about this earlier time of Cherokee and dugout canoes, stories of the old “Little T,” and how the Fort, Tellico Blockhouse, and McGhee Plantation were all influenced by the river.
This program will last approximately 2 hours, and will involve paddling in the sun so please bring sunscreen, water, a snack, and dress for being in the water.  You are welcome to bring your own canoe or kayak or you may rent one.  Life jackets are required.  Attendees under 16 years of age must have an adult accompany them.  $20 participant / $30 participant and boat rental.

If you have any questions feel free to contact the park office at 423-420-2331.  See you then!
