TN Promise at Gee Creek 6-25
TN Promise Work Day – Saturday, June 25 at Gee Creek (9am to 12pm).
We are going to defend our poor native plants from these aggressive invaders. We will be eradicating privet and the infamous tree of heaven from our campground. This event is for our TN Promise Students who are looking for service hours. Enjoy your day with us, get to know your local rangers and help to preserve the natural heritage of our area.
Note: This event will be cancelled if we undergo inclement weather.
WHAT TO BRING: Water to drink. Please bring/wear clothes & gloves suitable for outdoor work to include closed-toed shoes.
WHEN: Saturday 6/25/22 at 9:00am-12:00pm
WHERE: We will meet at the Gee Creek Visitor Center (404 Spring Creek Rd. Delano, TN 37325)
Tennessee Promise provides students the chance to attend tuition-free any of the state’s community colleges, colleges of applied technology or other eligible institutions offering an associate degree program. One of the requirements to maintain eligibility is to complete eight hours of community service before each semester.
